Dr. Hugh Kim, DMD., Msc. He obtained his dental degree from the University de Montreal in 2000. After completing the dental residency program at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, he commenced specialty training in Periodontics (gum disease) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2001, and completed the program in 2003. He has since completed a Master degree in dental science (Msc.) at UBC, and his research thesis was on studying the nature of attachment between titanium implants and living soft tissues. Dr. Kim successfully completed the requirements of the National Dental Specialty Examination of the Royal Collage of Dentists of Canada and became a fellow of this society in the fall of 2003. Dr. Kim practiced in Richmond, and at Scident Family Dental Clinic from 2002-2006.  He has since moved to Toronto to complete a Ph.D. degree in the area of molecular biology of periodontal disease at the University of Toronto.  He is currently completing a postdoctoral program at Harvard University.  We are looking forward to have Dr. Kim back at Scident as soon as he finishes his postdoctoral program.
